In no particular order, here are your top Women and Gadgets for 2012.
Hottest Women of 2012
1. Kate Upton
This has been a breakout year for Kate Upton, and in turn a great year for Blondes in the age-old Blondes vs. Brunettes battle to the death.
2. Jennifer Lawrence
No other female movie star has garnered as much attention this year as Jennifer Lawrence. She is one of the few teen idols actually respected for her work, and we’re hoping for continued upward mobility.
3. Michelle Williams
Perhaps the most talented actress of her generation, and arguably the best one working today, Michelle Williams is also somewhat pleasing on the eyes. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. I think we’re the gander, in this scenario.
4. Lana Del Rey
Despite the many strangely heated debates around her authenticity, her record Born To Die was one of the top selling albums of 2012, reminding us all of our secret, buried fetish for 50s and 60s Americana – and that bombshells don’t have to be blonde.
5. Grimes
Who is Grimes, you ask? I can’t be the only one with Google. This synth-loving Canadian musician has had her biggest year yet, releasing her widely acclaimed album Visions, and impressing us with not only her unique sound, but also her unique look.
6. Rihanna
To be honest, this is an unsatisfying choice, completely due to the whiff of Chris Brown in the air. However, this is a list focused on hot women, and there’s no denying that, her appreciation for Chris Brown notwithstanding, this woman is hot. No one goes bottomless quite like Rihanna.
7. Miranda Kerr
I’ll be honest – Miranda may be on the list every year. When the Age of Man is at an end, this elfin beauty will survive to sail off to her homeland in the stars. Or something equally wondrous.
8. Candice Swanepoel
Another Victoria’s Secret model, eh? Surprise, surprise. That being said, if you can find a suitable replacement, let me know. I won’t be listening.
9. Mila Kunis
There’s not really much to say about Mila that you don’t already know or care to hear. You’re here for the pictures, we know. So enjoy.
10. Emma Stone
She plays the awkward-type, and we like it. She’s the girl from your high school who proceeded to get better looking every year, but never quite realized it herself – or perhaps she did but still refused to crush your budding spirit. And for that, we salute her.
10 Best Gadgets of 2012
1. MetaWatch Strata (link)
This Smart Watch is designed to work with your smartphone, and perhaps even replace it, giving you hands-free information on the go. Thanks for that useless Samsung Galaxy S3 for Christmas, Mom!
2. Portable Gel Fireplace (link)
Sick of how your fireplace doesn’t follow you around the house to keep you warm? That’s all changed with the portable gel fireplace. The future is here, my friends.
3. Giro Apple Slicer (link)
If there is any warmth left in your body, this gadget will excite and intrigue you. Slice up your apples in ease and style. Finally!
4. Toaster and Egg Poacher (link)
Together at last, my friends. Together at last. No more scrambling around to get your bread toasted at the perfect moment that your egg is ready. Get ready to change your lives.
5. Louis Vuitton Bin Bag (link)
The time has come to care about how your trash looks. Do you want to be that chump with the unstylish black garbage bag? Makes us want to puke!
6. Nomiku (link)
The perfect steak has arrived. Despite what this device may look like (don’t get too excited, ladies), it actually cooks steak in a process known as sous-vide. We don’t want to spoil the surprise, so we’ll let you look that up for yourself.
7. Jellyfish Tank (link)
We’ve featured this gadget before, and couldn’t help but feature it again. Can you honestly tell us this wouldn’t be a great addition to your Swagger home? We thought not.
8. Formlabs Form 1 3D Printer (link)
You always knew that if you had the right tools, you could make your own action figures. Well, here’s your chance. With this 3D printer, you can make almost anything your mind can design. Almost. It doesn’t make women who will love you. Yet.
9. Lytro (link)
Lytro is a Light-Field camera – meaning it captures the entire array of luminal information (11 million rays of light) in any given scene, and translates that into a picture – a picture that can be focused after the picture has been taken. The days of mom’s unfocused Christmas photography are over.
10. Nintendo Wii U (link)
The Wii U hopes to reclaim Nintendo’s lost mindshare from the aging Wii. It’s an innovative approach to console gaming, and we’re hoping they pull it off. Mostly because we want more Mario Kart.
