If you’re racking up the travel miles like me for business trips, then the Fairmont Dubai is a great place for you. With Fairmont Gold, you have all the access and perks you need to be productive and enjoy a little relaxation while you’re at it. The convenient downtown location of this Fairmont hotel gives you access to some of the most quintessential city landmarks in Dubai. If you have time, take a moment to check out the Burj Khalifa or Dubai Mall. If not, keep your work buzz going inside the International Financial Centre or the right-at-your-doorstep Trade Centre.
The Place
Fairmont Dubai was a standout building in the sea of city skyscrapers. It’s not your typical high rise and gives you that hint of extravagance while keeping things down to business.
“Once you’ve experienced Fairmont Gold, truthfully, it’s hard to go back”
I tried out Fairmont Gold and it gives you so much more than your basic room for the night. You have access to a 24/7 business lounge, which we all need when working abroad. Fairmont Gold also has its own exclusive suites, so your rooms are bigger and accommodate any in-suite business guests. There’s even a guest bathroom and lots of extra living room space if you want a more personal meeting.
I especially enjoyed the oversized king bed, because, at the end of the day, after a busy day in Dubai, you need your R&R.
The Amenities
Stay on point with your workouts at the over-sized rooftop gym. It gets pretty busy in there, but you’ll always be able to find a spot to get your sweat on.
The convenience of Fairmont Dubai’s location means that it caters to your specific business needs. You can book conference rooms for smaller-sized meetings and even bigger corporate rooms if you’re hosting an event.
If you need to take some time to yourself and relax a bit, I highly suggest checking out the hotel spa. The service is impeccable and they’re very professional and accommodating. It’ll get rid of any tension built up throughout your trip and give you the pick-me-up you need to really make it feel like a vacation.
One of the highlights for me were the uniquely designed rooftop pools. There are two separate pool areas – one to watch the sunrise and the other to watch the sunset. Cause of course, in Dubai, one rooftop pool is never enough. The sunset pool is also open until 10pm, so grab a late-night dip in under the ambient pool lights.
The Restaurants
Grab a quick lunch, or make plans for a business dinner at any of the Fairmont’s 10+ cafés and restaurants. I recommend checking out The Exchange Grill for dinner. The wagyu striploin was outta this world.
Make sure you try out some of the wines here, because they won’t disappoint. Hey, and if at one of these business meetings you close a big deal, celebrate with this $25,000 1998 Petrus Pomerol and really get your swag on.
I checked out one of the most unique restaurant experiences on-site, Noire. As the name suggests, the blackout restaurant leaves everything up to the flavours. You can’t see a thing and must use your sense to guide you through the tasting experience. I’ve always wanted to experience this and it was such a treat to do so at the Fairmont Dubai. The staff there are wonderful in assisting and you really have to experience it at least once. Your sense are heightened which makes for great conversation and an overall fun, unique experience. A great culinary adventure and fun story to bring home with you. I guarantee you’ll appreciate a meal that much more after this.
The standout eats for me came with Fairmont Gold. You get access to the lounge for a very wide selection of snacks, happy hour, tea times as well as lavish breakfast buffets. Trust me, you won’t have to worry about what to eat and will have plenty of options to choose from with Fairmont Gold.
The Entertainment
Don’t think I would forget about Fairmont Dubai’s most happening club. It might be business in the front but it’s all party in the back at Cavalli. Head to this dance club to meet someone new, or bring all your friends with you. Cavalli gives you the chance to escape the night. You might even be partying with some of hip-hops most rich and famous.
Whether you’re just stopping through on a big city adventure or working the night away, Fairmont Dubai’s location gives you the best of the city. Worker-bees and travelers alike come together at this standout hotel. If you’re travelling with the family and just looking for more of a resort vibe and vacation, check out their sister property Fairmont, The Palm at Jumeirah for more kid-friendly accommodations.
