More music fans are choosing to stay at Airbnb homes for the multi-day extravaganza in the California desert. During the festival this year, we tallied 15,000 guest arrivals in Indio, CA and nearby Palm Springs, up from 9,900 in 2016 and 4,700 in 2015.
This year, superstars kicked back at local Airbnbs before dazzling thousands of fans onstage. From super-luxe estates to palatial desert villas, top artists like Lady Gaga and Kendrick Lamar gave their fans a peek at the Airbnb homes they stayed in during the festival.
Gaga stayed at a 9,500-square-foot Mediterranean-style compound boasting six bedrooms, 360-degree mountain views, an expansive outdoor entertainment area and a fully enclosed atrium in the center of the home. On Instagram, Gaga posed for a snapshot near the home’s fireplace at the center of the atrium.
In between headlining, Kendrick Lamar camped out at the Big Sioux Estate featuring floor-to-ceiling glass windows, a saltwater pool and raised spa, gas fire pit, and a private sunken tennis court. The cost of apartments range.
After taking the stage, Wiz Khalifa enjoyed the weekend at the 7,000-square-foot Firestone Estate while EDM superstar Martin Garrix stayed at a 3,888 square foot La Quinta palace.
