Spyderco® SpydieChef™ Knife and Shot Glass Package

Sailun Tires

No man cave is complete without a high-quality cutting tool and some stylish drinkware.

The Spyderco knife company of Golden, Colorado, has both those needs covered with a truly unique package deal.

Founded in 1976, Spyderco produced its first knife in 1981 and literally changed the world. Before then, all folding knives were true “pocketknives” or had to be carried in a pouch on the belt. Except for old-school switchblades, they also had to be opened with two hands. Spyderco founder Sal Glesser changed all that by pioneering the concept of manual, one-handed opening with his Trademark Round Hole™. He also added a clip to the handle of the knife for convenient, top-of-the-pocket carry. In addition to the instant access and high-speed deployment of his revolutionary CLIPIT® designs, Sal also was the first to add serrated edges to folding knives. As such, he and Spyderco literally defined the form of the vast majority of folding knives on the market today.

More than 40 years later, Spyderco remains a driving force in the knife industry. They are also the undisputed leaders when it comes to the use of state-of-the-art blade steels—including the ultra-corrosion-resistant steels featured in their award-winning Salt® Series. Designed specifically for use in and around the water, these incredible knives are in a class by themselves. Their most elite members are also the perfect accessories for the ultimate man cave.

Based on the coveted custom design of renowned Polish knifemaker Marcin Slysz, the SpydieChef™ is the most refined and meticulously crafted member of the Spyderco Salt Series. Its gracefully curved, full-flat-ground blade is reminiscent of the finest chef’s knives and is made from LC200N stainless steel. Used by NASA for the ball bearings in spacecraft, this remarkable nitrogen-enriched steel holds an edge incredibly well yet is fearlessly resistant to corrosion. Not to be outdone, the SpydieChef’s handle features two precision-machined, solid titanium scales. The reverse-side scale includes the knife’s high-strength Reeve Integral Lock (R.I.L.), or “frame lock,” mechanism, which locks the blade securely open during use. A deep-pocket wire clip keeps the knife instantly accessible at the top of the pocket and is reversible for left or right-side tip-up carry. Together with the blade’s Trademark Round Hole, it makes drawing and one-hand opening of the knife with either hand quick and positive. Consistent with its “Salt Series” theme, all the SpydieChef’s assembly screws and other hardware are also crafted from ultra-corrosion-resistant, marine-grade materials.

The SpydieChef’s sleek design scales the cutting performance of a world-class chef’s knife down into a practical, pocket-friendly cutting tool. The thin edge geometry of its satin-finished blade allows it to cut with extreme authority and eagerly tackle almost any cutting chore. Whether you’re opening your latest arrivals from Amazon or slicing limes for a well-deserved cocktail, the SpydieChef is an indispensable man-cave companion.

The other element of this unique package is a hand-crafted shot glass embedded with a genuine LC200N blade from a Spyderco Ladybug® 3 folding knife. The unsharpened blade of this incredible shot glass is made in Seki City—Japan’s historic cutlery capitol—and then shipped to Wisconsin, to the father-and-son company Benshot®. Benshot’s expert craftsmen then individually custom craft each shot glass by embedding the blade into the hot glass before etching it with Spyderco’s iconic “bug” logo and company name. Every one of these amazing shot glasses is a true work of art and a uniquely different way of celebrating your passion for both knives and fine spirits.

Upgrade your man cave with this remarkable package from the company that literally created the modern, clip-carry, one-hand-opening folding knife. It is available exclusively to SWAGGER readers at a special discount price.
