The Growing List of Celebrities Moving Across the Country

Sailun Tires

A rising number of celebrities have chosen to leave Hollywood to make a new life elsewhere. For instance, in 2020, Mark Wahlberg sold his Beverly Hills property and relocated to Nevada with his family, seeing it as the most excellent choice for his children.

Many others have decided to leave Hollywood’s limelight for a tranquil life in another state and more privacy. Here’s a look at some celebrities who have chosen to move across the country.

Mark Wahlberg and his wife, Rhea Durham

Wahlberg and Rhea share two daughters and two sons. They relocated to Nevada recently because Wahlberg wanted to work from home. He claims that he traveled to California long ago to pursue acting, but he has only produced a few films.

So, for the couple, providing their children with a better life and allowing them to pursue their passions, like being an equestrian, a basketball player, or a golfer, made a lot more sense.

Are you also looking to move across the country too? You’ll most certainly need the help of cross-country movers to make your move seamless and hassle-free. You can depend on longdistancemoving.com for free quotes and reliable rates.

Chris Hemsworth

Chris Hemsworth and his wife, Elsa Pataky, moved back to Australia, where the Thor actor was born, to start a family. Furthermore, he noted that the family considered Los Angeles to be “suffocating” and that he did not want his children to grow up in such an environment.

Chris told Modern Luxury that he adores what he does as an actor, but he believes it may feel stifling when constantly surrounded by the acting lifestyle. He feels people were residing side by side in the suburbs, and together with his wife, they didn’t want their children to grow up that way. Their finest thing has been moving to a farm facility on the Australian coast.

Julia Roberts and her husband, Danny Moder

Julia Roberts and Danny Moder reside on a sizable ranch in Taos, New Mexico. They live there with their three children: Hazel, Phinnaeus, and Henry.

Julia purchased the 32-acre ranch in Taos, New Mexico, in the 1990s and used it as a vacation residence. She held her wedding with Danny Moder on July 4, 2002, at the same ranch.

The famous actress has previously expressed in a 2003 interview with Oprah Winfrey that it’s the place she feels most at home. She believes it’s peaceful and hard to get in a bad mood when she’s there. In the same interview, she said she gets around New Mexico like it’s nothing. But, when it comes to Los Angeles, it is such a hub for the entertainment industry, and being a star, it’s a challenge for her.

Mark Ruffalo

Mark Ruffalo decided to leave California when he became famous. To escape Hollywood’s noise and bustle, Mark and his wife moved to upstate New York. The couple has resided in Callicoon, New York, since the late 1990s so that they may raise their kids away from the spotlight.

Josh Brolin

In an Instagram post in September 2020, Josh Brolin’s wife Kathryn announced their relocation to Atlanta, Georgia. Josh is a part of the “Avengers” cast.

Kathryn said the family had just moved into their beautiful home in Atlanta and were starting a new adventure. According to Kathryn’s post, the family decided to skip out on their beloved Cali and relocate across the country, but they also promised to return.

In another Instagram post, Kathryn said moving back to her hometown is lovely. She found it wonderful to have family drop by on occasion and hang out on the porch.

Many other celebrities, including Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Blake Shelton, and Sandra Bullock, have also left Hollywood for different reasons. The growing migration trends seem increasingly evident. Not everyone wants to live in the demanding Hollywood lifestyle.
