Meduza, OneRepublic, and Kim Petras are teaming up to produce the official song for UEFA EURO 2024.
The collaboration was announced during the tournament’s final draw in Hamburg. In March, the UEFA revealed more details.
“German singer and songwriter Leony is an official UEFA EURO 2024 music artist,” wrote the organization on X.
“Together with Italian producers Meduza and American pop-rock trailblazers OneRepublic Leony will perform the official tournament song, which will be presented in May.”
EURO 2024 is scheduled to run from June 14 to July 14, 2024. Germany acts as a host this year and its ten participating cities are preparing to welcome soccer fans from around the world.
The ticketing phase for UEFA EURO 2024 has wrapped its first round in October 2023, and it’s clear this is not your average ticket sale. While general ticket sales for UEFA EURO 2024 are currently paused, the anticipation is anything but.
Fans have made their speculations on the competition results and bettors have started checking betting guides to Euro 2024 to add to their analysis.
UEFA EURO 2024 anthems
The UEFA European Championship has always come with iconic anthems. Some might still recall Enrique Iglesias’ “Can You Hear Me” in 2008 and of course Martin Garrix’s “We Are the People” in 2020.
“Merging the popular passions of football and music enriches the UEFA EURO 2024 experience,” said Guy-Laurent Epstein, UEFA’s Marketing Director.
Both the event’s opening and closing ceremonies feature a live performance, compelling a much broader types of audience beyond football fans. While not yet matching the NFL Super Bowl’s grandeur, the Champions League opening ceremonies have evolved significantly over the years.
Alicia Keys set the tone in 2016 with a trio of her hits in Milan. Her strong performance was followed by the Black Eyed Peas’ energetic Cardiff performance in 2017.
Dua Lipa showcased her rising star power in Kyiv in 2018, while Imagine Dragons rocked Madrid in 2019. The 2021 ceremony, constrained by COVID-19 safety measures in Porto, featured a pre-recorded set by DJ Marshmello across European cities.
With lighter restrictions, 2022 saw Camila Cabello stage an elaborate show in Paris with her latest tracks and iconic hits.
Last year, Burna Boy became the first African artist to headline the event. He was joined by Brazilian singer Anitta, who unveiled her single Funk Rave, and Swedish DJ Alesso with his dance anthem Heroes (We Could Be).
Getting the tickets
Announced on Germany Unity Day, the ticketing process is designed for maximum fairness. With over 1.2 million tickets on offer, priced as low as €30, and a transparent lottery system in place, fans globally had an equal shot at securing their seats through the official ticketing site.
After the first window, unsuccessful applicants got another chance based on their lottery ranking. An additional one million tickets were released after the final tournament draw on December 2.
On April 9, UEFA announced the ticketing details for the upcoming men’s UEFA club competition finals and the UEFA Super Cup. Bilbao hosts the Women’s Champions League Final on May 25, but it’s been sold out.
However, we can still secure a seat at the Europa League Final at Dublin Arena on May 22 which offers 36,000 tickets starting at €40. Athens hosts the Europa Conference League Final on May 29 with 21,000 tickets from €25.
The Champions League Final takes the stage at London’s Wembley Stadium on June 1, offering 60,000 tickets starting at £60. And don’t miss the UEFA Super Cup in Warsaw on August 14, with 48,000 tickets starting at €30.
