Earbuds aren’t exactly the first thing that come to mind when you hear the words Louis Vuitton.
The high-end fashion brand is best known for highly sought after bags and wallets such as The Speedy, The Alma, and The Neverfull. They also have a pretty good collection of backpacks and hardsided luggage for men.
But the French fashion house recently released the $995 Louis Vuitton Horizon Earphones (Yes! Almost a thousand dollars!), featuring the LV logo that’s meant to help any music or fashion lover stand out.
The intriguing earbuds come in four colors black, white, red monogram, and yellow and blue LV stripes. They also come with an equally eye-catching circular charging case, also featuring the brand’s signature LV initials.
In a nutshell, the LV Horizon offers 3.5hours of listening time and a touch control element. It offers impressive looks and comfort level. Plus, they are obviously made from quality, high-end materials. Basically, the specs of the LV Horizon are similar to that of Master & Dynamic’s existing MW07 earbuds. The two brands teamed up for this one-of-a-kind music/fashion experience. MW07s came out last year. But at $299, the MW07s were already considered a pricey option.
Of course, the regular MW07s don’t have the sought-after LV logo. Really, that’s what you’re paying for with the additional $700.
Know what you’re getting into
What exactly will you get for $1000?
If you just want a more convenient and less conspicuous way of listening to music while on you’re on your morning commute, then you’re better off with regular earbuds. We’d even say you should go get yourself an MW07.
However, if you want something more, then by all means, go for the LV Horizon.
Getting this high-end pair is all about the LV experience. You are paying for something more than just the hardware. Let’s be honest here, like most high-end fashion products these earbuds are overpriced. And it’s not because they’re meant to give you a mind-blowing audio experience.
There’s something about wearing LV that can boost your confidence and increase your happiness levels. You get to be a part of an “exclusive club” that very few people get to access. You’re wearing LV on your ears – not a lot of people can get to say that!
Oh and if you do decide to get the LV Horizon, make sure that people actually see you using them. It’s gonna be totally useless if you’re going to be subtle about it, bro.
Is it worth getting?
If you are a big fan of the whole LV branding, then this is definitely worth getting. It supposedly pairs well with the $2,450 Tambour Horizon smartwatch. Just don’t forget to take good care of it! Earbuds are notorious for getting lost and you can’t really shell out just $500 if you only need one piece.
