Longines, the Swiss watchmaking brand with a legacy dating back to 1832, continues to captivate enthusiasts with its rich history and innovative designs
To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Conquest collection, Longines has launched the Conquest Heritage Central Power Reserve. Originally conceived as a style that transitions seamlessly from day to evening, the new style is a modern take on the iconic model from the late 1950’s.
The Conquest Heritage Central Power Reserve reimagines a 1954 design that had a one-of-a-kind power reserve indicator, consisting of two rotating discs located in the centre of the dial. This complication, invented by Longines and used exclusively by the brand, showcases the remaining running time of the watch with exquisite precision. The Conquest Heritage Central Power Reserve features a similarly unique power reserve indicator in the shape of a baton, which elegantly reveals the balance of power-reserve hours available.
At the heart of this masterpiece lies the exclusive Longines L896.5 calibre, a self-winding mechanical movement, showcasing the brand’s watchmaking expertise. With a silicon balance-spring and innovative components, this calibre offers exceptional magnetic resistance that exceeds industry standards. The 38mm steel case has satin-finished and polished surfaces, while the transparent screw-down case back reveals the watches intricate inner workings.
The Conquest Heritage Central Power Reserve boasts a three-part dial available in champagne, anthracite, or black. The dial is adorned with applied facetted hour markers in yellow gold, rose gold, or silver tones. The model has a date window at 12 o’clock and the skyscraper-style hour and minute hands are coated with Super-LumiNova® to ensure readability in any lighting condition. The timepiece is finished with a black or grey leather strap, adorned with a newly designed steel pin buckle.
