End of the Summer Style Options

The dog days of summer are coming to an end, and fall is right around the corner. It’s that awkward time of year when it’s not quite shorts season, not quite sweater weather. Here are some stylish pieces that will help you stay fly during this time of transition.

1. Denim jacket
Jean jackets never stopped being in style. Plus, they’re a perfect layer to keep you warm when the temperature drops, without being overkill. Gap still does this classic best.

2. Plaid button-down
Plaid is a great way to ring in fall fashion, and luckily plaid shirts come in all levels of warmth, from light-weight (like this one from J. Crew) to full-on flannel (like Patagonia’s Fjord Flannel). Maybe get one of each, just to be safe?

3. Leather Boots
A good pair of leather boots should be staple of every man’s wardrobe. They go well with almost anything, and they can dress up a pair of jeans and keep your toes warm at the same time. Get a timeless pair like these from Infinities.

4. Chinos
Way classier than a pair of jeans, and much more wearable than dress pants, chinos (or khakis) are a fantastic option for the nebulous summer/fall weather. The thick material will keep your legs warm on cool days, but the cotton is breathable enough you won’t burn up when it’s warmer out. And, they come in such a fun range of colors that they can be a statement piece all on their own. Snag a pair of the ever-stylish Banana Republic chinos.

5. Long-sleeved Henley
Thrown over jeans with the sleeves pushed up, or layered under a cosy cardigan or button down, the long-sleeved henley is such a versatile style option. It’s hard not to look good in one of these, they are so simplistically fashionable. Why not grab a few of these comfy True Religion henleys?

6. Vest
When the air outside starts getting nippy, no item of clothing is more useful than a down vest. It gives any outfit a rugged, outdoorsy look, it transitions nicely between seasons, and it will keep you nice and toasty. This one by Vince would be a perfect for the in-between days of summer and fall. Trust us, it’s one of those items that you’ll end up wearing way more than you imagine.
