Don’t blow it on your Next Date — Why Confidence is the New Sexy?

Sailun Tires

Let’s face it, the dating scene can be a bit of a minefield. From navigating social media to managing expectations. It seems that people are pretty much set up to fail when it comes to finding a partner. There’s that fine line between coming on too strong and playing too hard to get. That’s where confidence comes in. Having the confidence in yourself that you have the situation under control. Most importantly, that you are confident in yourself as a potential partner.

Lack of confidence, especially, on a first date will only result in a game over. Seriously, no aftershave or a new outfit can hide your lack of confidence. So before you go out on your next date, here are some reasons why confidence should be your only weapon.

Do people really find confidence sexy?

Yes, confidence is sexy. That works both ways, you will find it attractive and so will your potential date. So why is confidence sexy? Well, mostly because it is the biggest indicator of how you feel about yourself. If you don’t believe in yourself why should anyone else? In order to have successful dates, you need to own your confidence. This is why many men consider dating to be like an interview process. However, this is a bit of a pitfall as often confidence turns into full-on show-boating. Which is great for a job interview, but on a date is a big no-no. So if you’re tempted to bust out your inner Kanye West, don’t. Instead, opt for a smoother approach and you’ll notice how much more enjoyable dating can be. Dating and getting to know someone should be an enjoyable process. Don’t let a lack of confidence stand in your way.

Tips for being more confident

Learn how to take risks

Taking risks doesn’t mean acting recklessly. If you’re trying to attract a potential mate do not act like a reckless teenager. It will only result in a strikeout. Instead, learn how to take risks like a pro and gain confidence in doing so. For example, you can learn how to take calculated risks by playing online casino games. By playing online casino games you can practice strategy, learn how to win and lose graciously and also take risks. Again, not recklessly like speeding down the highway to show off your new car.

In both your personal and professional lives, there will be times you need to make decisions. Sometime, those decisions will involve an element of risk.  As important as it is to be risk-aware, you need to know how to take risks. Show yourself and potential partners, that you know how and when to take risks.

Be wary of social media

Unless you live under a rock, social media is impossible to avoid. It is well and truly ingrained in our daily lives. Whilst there is no harm in having a Twitter, Facebook, Instagram account or any other profile be wary. Think about what you have available for your potential dates, employers, and the world to see. Maybe you have some risky boys holiday photos? Maybe you posted some rant about how everything is shit? Or Maybe you still have one too many photos of your ex-partner?

Potential partners, similarly to employers tend to do a quick search of who their dating. It is your job to make sure your social media represents the best side of you. Whilst none of the above are major offences, they can raise some flags.

Know how to dress yourself

Appearance isn’t everything but that doesn’t mean you don’t need to make an effort. That means knowing how to dress, and your own style. So if your ex or worse your mom selected your entire wardrobe to stop it now. Find and explore your own look when it comes to clothing. This also means, thinking about what image you want to portray. Are you a suit and tie kind of guy? Would you rather wear jeans and a t-shirt? Or Is your fashion more on the hipster side?

In truth, what your style it doesn’t matter as much as you think. As long as you feel confident in what you are wearing it will shine through.
