As Hollywood’s elite gather for the 90th Academy Awards, all eyes are fixed on the fashion as our favourite celebrities walk the red carpet.
This year’s Oscars red carpet certainly did not disappoint as we watched Hollywood stars arrive for the biggest award show of the year. The Oscars are all about the glamour, red carpet trends this year include: plush velvet, colorful lapel accents and perfect tailoring. These are our picks for the most #SwagWorthy red carpet looks from the 90th Academy Awards.
Men with Swagger:
Here we bring you the 2018 Academy Awards’ most epic men’s look to walk the red carpet:
Tom Holland
Wearing a custom Hermès double-breasted suit with Piaget jewelry. Looks like Spiderman has transformed into a very dapper young gentleman.
Daniel Kaluuya
Once again Daniel Kaluuya has proven he is #SwagWorthy in this brown velvet Brunello Cucinelli suit with Montblanc cuff links. The color and fabric of his suit blend perfectly with the black lapel accent and bow tie.
Armie Hammer
Turning heads on the carpet wearing a deep red Giorgio Armani velvet suit. Not the best fit, we’ve seen on Armie this red carpet season, but he still looks modern and sophisticated; very #SwagWorthy!
Jordan Peele
Not many people can properly pull off the white tuxedo, but Jordan Peele certainly can. Walking the Oscars red carpet in Calvin Klein, Jimmy Choo shoes with studded detailing, and Montblanc cuff links, Peele looked like a million dollars. The best accessory with this look: an Oscar.
Common
Common never leaves the house without his dapper style. Every carpet this season he has brought his fashion A-game, and the Oscars were no different. Wearing a Giorgio Armani suit with black velvet lapel accents and Tiffany & Co. jewelry, Common looks modern and dashing.
Garrett Hedlund
The cast of Mudbound – from left: Jason Clarke, Rob Morgan and Garrett Hedlund – walked the red carpet at the Oscars together with the film being up for several nominations. Garrett Hedlund (right) looks modern and stylish in this double-breasted teal Prada suit with black accents, Christian Louboutin shoes and a Portugieser Automatic watch. Everything about this suit is working, the color, fit and accessories. Definitely #SwagWorthy.
#CoupleGoals:
Walking the red carpet is much easier when you have arm candy — and these couples just have it all. Check out our favourite couples who took to the 90th Academy Awards’ red carpet:
Kobe and his wife, Vanessa Laine Bryant
The Lakers star went classic, taking home his first Academy Award for the best animated short film, Dear Basketball, in a perfectly tailored tux. Alongside his gorgeous wife in a fitting sex dark red dress, highlighting all the beautiful curves, in exactly the right places.
Sam Rockwell and long-time partner, Leslie Bibb
Sam Rockwell, who took home a 2018 Oscar win in his category, alongside his long-time love, actress Leslie Bibb. Rockwell graced the red carpet in a fitted Prada suit, Christian Louboutin shoes, and David Yurman cufflinks with Leslie Bibb’s name on them.
Ansel Elgort and girlfriend, Violetta Komyshan
Wearing Tom Ford at this year’s Oscar show, Ansel Elgort, with his gorgeous arm candy Violetta Komyshan, looks regal in this dark green velvet jacket. The color is rich and the velvet is luxurious, another home-run #SwagWorthy red carpet look for Ansel.
Hottest Women of the Night:
This awards season the women have certainly brought their A-game, and the Oscars were no different. Here are Swagger’s Hottest Women of the Night:
Margo Robbie
Margo looking sleek and sexy in this white dress.
Betty Gabriel
The ‘Get Out’ co-star ‘dared to bare’ this perfectly balanced elegant, yet sexy, teal dress. It’s plunging neckline, sheer skirt and embroidered train showcased her figure in all the right places, while still keeping it classy. (Getty)
Taraji P. Henson
Taraji looking more powerful, and seductive than ever, in this cut-out black dress. And let’s just say, that slit don’t lie.
Jimmy Kimmel hosted the 90th Academy Awards for the second year in a row, which means it was a fun night to say the least. Kimmel gave away a Jet Ski to the winner with the speediest acceptance speech, took a group of celebrities on a field trip to a nearby movie theatre to thank the movie-going fans, and made many jokes about ‘Oscar turning 90 years-old’. Overall, the Oscars were a night of fashion, fun and – most importantly – a celebration of the film industry excellence. While showcasing some world leading Swagger, to say the least.
