Loud Luxury, Chef Eric Chong, and Knorr team up to serve a Fusion of beats, eats, and flavour at the Bouillon Room

In a creative twist that combines food and music, Knorr teamed up with DJ duo Loud Luxury and MasterChef Canada Winner Chef Eric Chong to launch the Bouillon Room—a unique experience where music powers live cooking.

Inspired by the Boiler Room concept, which has gained popularity thanks to artists like Charli XCX, this event brought a fresh, interactive spin to dining. As Chef Chong prepared meals live, Loud Luxury’s beats set the stage, transforming the kitchen into a flavour-packed concert.

“A big inspiration for tonight’s menu was Ludacris’s lemon pepper chicken from his previous collaboration with Knorr,” Chef Chong told SWAGGER. “I wanted to put my own spin on it using three different cuisines: Asian, Caribbean, and Italian, featuring lemon pepper and the delicious Knorr Bouillon Cube.”

The event, which was completely free, allowed attendees to sample dishes as they were being prepared while enjoying Loud Luxury’s live set. SWAGGER caught up with the DJ duo to discuss their Bouillon Set preparation and what fans can expect next:

Left to Right: Andrew Fedyk, Joe Depace

SWAGGER: You’ve both performed at so many incredible venues, but this is a very unique and intimate experience. How does this compare to larger shows?

Joe: We love intimate shows like this because they give us a different experience. We play big shows all the time, but this is a nice change-up for us because we don’t get to do this often. It’s really cool to switch it up once in a while.

Andrew: Organizing our setlist was also really interesting because we needed the bass to be powerful enough to trigger the different elements cooking, so we had to approach this a little differently than we would for a festival or club.

Joe: We had to think about what we’d like to hear if we were eating!

SWAGGER: What role does food play in your life while you’re on the road?

Joe: Everything. [laughs] That’s all I’ve been doing today—eating!

Andrew: You’ll die if you don’t eat, so you need to eat to stay alive, right? We love music and are lucky to see a lot of the world. We’re basically on the road every single weekend, and a big part of that is exploring new places and trying new food.

Joe: One of my favourite things to do while travelling is to go to supper clubs. There’s nothing like enjoying a nice dinner and dancing afterward.

SWAGGER: What’s coming up next for Loud Luxury?

Joe: We’ve been working in the studio and just got back from a little vacation. Next up we have our Vegas residency with Tao Group, and we’re going to be releasing some new music.

Andrew: We’ve also had some exciting calls for a big show in Toronto, our favourite city, so stay tuned!

SWAGGER: What is your favourite go-to meal when you’re on the road?

Andrew: Oh, poutine if they have it. I swear, I’m not just saying that because I’m Canadian!

Joe: Penne alla vodka.

Front: Chef Eric Chong        Back: Left to Right: Joe Depace, Andrew Fedyk

SWAGGER: If you could collaborate with any artist outside of the electronic music scene, who would it be?

Andrew: Gordon Ramsay! We’ve been friends with him for years. He’s the best.

Joe: Gordon Ramsay and Guy Fieri.

SWAGGER: How do you stay connected to your Canadian roots when you travel all the time?

Joe: Well, we have a picture of Chad Kroeger from Nickelback in our Green Room for every show. It’s mandatory—we won’t play a show without it. [smiles]

Loud Luxury’s Green Room Request:

SWAGGER: Is there a particular dish or flavour from Knorr that resonates with you or brings back any childhood memories?

Andrew: Yes, the hollandaise.

Joe: Oh, yeah, that’s a good one. That’s a big one.

Andrew: My dad’s a chef, and he never uses pre-mixed, pre-made ingredients. But that’s the one thing he is very proud to cheat his recipes with—the Knorr hollandaise mix.
