The spotlight often shines brightest on the stars of the silver screen.

Yet, behind the scenes and at the myriad of dazzling pre-Oscars parties, a different kind of magic unfolds- one where music meets cinema, and where artists of all stripes gather to celebrate and connect. We were excited to sit down with DJ G Orgy, who is originally from Georgia, and is based in Las Vegas and get a sneak peak behind the scenes of what goes on at pre-screening events. Known as a global entertainment hub, Las Vegas attracts top-tier DJ talent and music acts from across the globe. Just like almost every Las Vegas native, Giorgi Bagushvili is always in the middle of the entertainment scene. But for musicians and performers, these events are more than just lavish parties where they go to have fun, but really- a work necessity. The entertainment industry is almost wholly based on who you meet and the types of relationships you build. Giorgi, who also pursues a career as a singer, knows all about this first hand.

1. The Oscars are all about celebrating excellence in film. Do you have any favorite movie soundtracks that you absolutely love?

If you’re asking me for my favorite soundtrack of all time, I really have a lot of favorites but I can give you my top 3: “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” by Aerosmith from Armageddon, Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen from Bohemian Rhapsody, Unchained Melody by Righteous Brothers from Ghost.

2. Fashion is a big part of the Oscars red carpet. Do you work with a stylist before preparing for red carpet events, or do you put together your own looks?

I actually have been acting as my own personal stylist, you can say. My friends always compliment me, I must have good taste, haha.

3. You mostly create electronic music, who is your biggest inspiration?

I was inspired by many producers and artists but my greatest inspirations are Martin Garrix, Tiësto, and David Guetta.

4. The Oscars pre-party is a melting pot of celebrities from various industries. Do you find that attendance and networking is vital for those who are trying to make it in the music and entertainment industries?

Absolutely, attending events like the Oscars pre-party is incredibly important for anyone looking to establish or advance their career in the music and entertainment industries. These gatherings serve as a unique opportunity to meet industry veterans, make new connections and showcase one’s talent and ambition among peers. Networking in such environments can open doors to collaborations, partnerships, and potentially life-changing opportunities. In this industry- who you know can be just as important as what you know, so being present and engaged at these events can significantly impact one’s career trajectory.

5. The film industry has seen a lot of changes in recent years, especially with the rise of streaming platforms. How do you think this has impacted the music industry and your work as a DJ?

The rise of streaming platforms has made music more accessible, influencing trends and tastes more rapidly. For me as a DJ and producer, it means a wider audience can discover my work, but it also requires constant engagement and adaptability to stand out in a crowded digital space. It pushes me to stay current and innovative, blending new sounds with traditional techniques.

6. You are not only a DJ, but also a singer. Do you plan to pursue a career as a singer and songwriter in the future?

Yes, I plan to explore more of my singing and songwriting, blending it with my DJ work to create unique music experiences and sounds.

7. Any hints on what we can expect from your upcoming projects or performances in the near future?

I have a few smashers coming very soon and a new album by the end of the year. My audience is going to love it!

8. Is there any particular country or festival where you’ve always dreamed of attending as a guest DJ?

I have a lot of venues and festivals I want to play, but my favorite festivals are Tomorrowland, Ultra and EDC. Hard work opens all doors, so I believe one day soon this will be a reality.
