Step into the Mysterious World of Hawkins with Stranger Things: The Experience!
It‘s no surprise that Stranger Things has become a popular hit on Netflix, and now fans can take part in the excitement with Stranger Things: The Experience. Located in Toronto, the interactive attraction opened on March 31st, giving visitors the chance to immerse themselves in the mysterious world of Hawkins. SWAGGER had the unique opportunity to preview the experience and can attest to the captivating, exciting and thrilling atmosphere.
Stranger Things premiered on Netflix in 2016 and has since developed a cult following. The fifth and final season of the show is set to be filmed later this year. If you’re not familiar with the storyline, the town of Hawkins, Indiana, has become a target for supernatural beings and phenomena. With a tie between the real world and the Upside Down, a group of friends is tasked with saving their town. This is with the help of their best friend, Eleven, who has superpowers (of course).
Step inside the Cinespace Marine Terminal Studio and enter Hawkins Lab for an exciting Stranger Things experience. Explore 30,000 square feet of space within Stage A and embark on a thrilling new journey through the Upside Down. You’ll even meet characters along the way, and you may even unlock a few special powers of your own. Be wary of the lurking demogorgons and demobats as you pass through the different rooms and tunnels—the experience will make you feel like you’re actually inside the show! “We want fans to experience the excitement of entering the world of Hawkins and become the hero of their own adventure, all while engaging with characters they know and love,” Isis Arias of NETFLIX Live Experiences explained to SWAGGER.
After the 45-minute immersive experience, you can hang out in the 80’s themed mixtape, where there’s 80’s music and neon lights in full swing. Take a seat at “The Upside” bar and grab the exclusive Toronto mocktail, “The Mall Rat” or other Stranger Things themed cocktails. In true SWAGGER fashion, our editors tried the “Demogorgon”, a Stranger Things inspired take on an old-fashioned with a waffle garnish and it was delicious!
Surfer Boy Pizza is also available to serve up some tubular pizza and Scoops Ahoy Sundaes, sponsored by Chips A Hoy will have you covered for the sweet stuff. To top it all off, you’ll want to check out the exclusive Stranger Things merchandise before you head home. The selection was incredible and there happen to be a few Toronto exclusives, such as the Will Byers Art Collection.
Overall, Stranger Things: The Experience is unlike anything you’ve ever experienced and has hands down been the most immersive pop-up we’ve attended so far. Whether you’re a fan of the show or not, we know you’ll love this incredible experience.
Starting at $49 (not including any extras), Stranger Things: The Experience is worth every penny and will provide an unforgettable and unique experience.
