A new Canadian-based web app, itswebwits.com, is the brainchild of the creative entrepreneur, Jason DaCosta. WebWits is a gaming app that allows users to make creative and witty comments on memes in a peer-based tournament style format. Users have the opportunity to win various free prizes by having the most liked comment, voted on by fellow players.

Originally hailing from Brampton, Ontario, but now residing in Grimsby, DaCosta considers himself a “deep and avid thinker” with a “creative mind and entrepreneurial spirit,” always looking to make a difference by way of being a visionary. He worked for different start-ups in the areas of business development, event planning and talent acquisition, and enjoyed the challenge of building companies from the ground up, watching them flourish and become successful – which ultimately inspired him to branch out on his own.

“It’s my humble beginnings and upbringing that enabled me to never measure success by what we have – but rather by what we can give back,” explains DaCosta. “I got the idea for this app while lying in bed one day and trying to shut my ever-active mind off; when I realized it wasn’t going to happen, I got up and jotted everything I was thinking down on a piece of paper…and the idea of creating this web app snowballed from there.”

Through the web app, itswebwitscom, the user experience promises to be simple fun and easy to use. New memes will be uploaded on a regular basis. The champion will be determined at the end of every month, at which point the winner will be contacted to claim their prize and announced on the web app and awarded a customized WebWits authentic champion title belt.

On the business side, itswebwits.com will offer advertising opportunities to companies by replacing a meme with an advertising spot.

“I want this app to challenge people to create witty commentary on memes and share that with fellow users who are both like minded and/or have different perspectives on how they interpret the meme.” – Jason DaCosta
